Function
For one of our clients, we're seeking a Medior/Senior Security Engineer in Brussels. This role is within a newly established center of excellence for AI and Cybersecurity, focused on protecting the organization and its customers from threats. You'll be part of a dynamic, collaborative, and technically driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and Implementing Security Solutions: You'll design and implement secure network, system, and application architectures aligned with industry best practices. This also involves performing continuous vulnerability and patch management.
- Defining and Enforcing Security Policies: You'll define and enforce security policies across firewalls, networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.
- Collaboration and Integration: You'll collaborate with internal CSIRT teams to enhance detection capabilities. You'll also work closely with project and infrastructure teams to embed security requirements into design and deployment phases.
- Compliance and Auditing: You'll ensure compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO27001, NIS2, GDPR) and support internal and external audits, including documentation and remediation tracking.
- Security Training and Awareness: You'll develop and deliver internal security training and awareness initiatives.
- Incident and Change Management: You'll participate in change and incident management processes to ensure secure implementations.
- On-Call Availability: You'll occasionally be available to handle critical security tasks or incidents outside of standard business hours (estimated 2–3 times per year).
Profile
- Experience: You have between 3 to 10 years of experience in cybersecurity roles (Medior: 3+ years, Senior: 7+ years).
- Certifications (a plus): Holding certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, CCSP, or equivalent, is a strong advantage. Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, Arista ACE, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, or Fortinet NSE 4-7 are also a plus.
- Technical Expertise: You possess a solid understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies. Experience securing hybrid infrastructures (on-premise, cloud, media-specific systems) is essential.
- Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of broadcast media environments and video-over-IP is a significant asset.
- Practical Skills: You have demonstrated skills in incident detection, analysis, and response. Experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, and Fortinet Firewalls, along with Arista security-enabled networking products, is a strong plus.
- Automation: Familiarity with automation/scripting for security (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is valued.
- Soft Skills: You are a team player with the ability to work independently, possessing strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Languages: You are fluent in English, with conversational ability in French or Dutch being preferred.
- Location and Work Model: You must be based in Belgium and willing to work in a hybrid model (3 days/week at the office) for a long-term mission.
