The Customer Service Engineer is a combined role with Facility Engineer responsibilities. This role may be fully split in the future.


As Customer Service Engineer

The Customer Service Engineer is responsible for carrying out Service Requests, which could be Hands & Eyes services for customers, cross-/disconnects and elements of customer implementations.


As Facility Engineer

The Facility Engineer is responsible for the proper functioning of the relevant DC infrastructure. This is done by performing regular inspections, acting on alarms, providing preventive and corrective maintenance and installation support. In many cases the work is not actually carried out by the engineer, but they supervise suppliers who carry out the maintenance/repairs. All in accordance with the relevant quality standards and adhering to the rules and regulations, in particular regarding Health & Safety. 



  • Demonstrable knowledge of Data installations and terminations

  • Demonstrable knowledge of general installation works.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of repair works

  • Demonstrable experience in fibre and copper caballing (desired but not essential)

  • Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety

  • Vocational qualification of a technical nature (qualified electricians are a distinct advantage)

  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme certification or similar demonstrating that you have

    passed the relevant Health and Safety tests (desirable but not essential)

  • Proven experience in a similar role desired but not essential

  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written)

Additional Requirements:

  • Telco’s background (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience of networks desired but not essential

  • Be familiar with MS office

  • Experience of ServiceNow (preferred but not essential)

  • Knowledge of Fluke testing equipment is an advantage

  • Experience of working in a client facing data centre
